Inspired by Italy’s message of courage, delivered by uplifting music and song coming from balconies and rooftops during its COVID crisis, Italian Day on The Drive for Courage will embrace themes of hope, courage and love – and how ‘together we can make a difference’. A primary component of the initiative also seeks to drive awareness to mental health and our community’s most vulnerable, and will be supporting Coast Mental Health’s fundraising campaign Spread Courage, Not Fear.

COVID-19 has impacted funding and many services have been forced to close down to help prevent spread. Coast Mental Health is working hard to develop alternative ways to support its clients, and all donations will make a direct impact in the lives of people living with mental illness and meeting basic needs, especially during these times. Italian Heritage Month Virtual Celebration
and launch of Italian Day on The Drive for Courage

On the evening of June 26, 2020, in honour of Italian Heritage Month and to officially launch Italian Day on the Drive for Courage and its virtual concert series, we celebrated with a special ceremony and music performance, which was live-streamed. The closed event was majestic in atmosphere as music rose to the skies and stirred emotions. Vancouver City Hall was also illuminated in green, white and red to mark the occasion.
